The Story
From a curious kid in Abuja to a fintech founder and a degen.
Where it starts
Timothy Adams was born in Lagos on 26 November 2004, the third of five children. His family traces its roots to the Igala-speaking town of Olamaboro in Kogi State. Through his early childhood the family moved often, first through Ogun State and later to Abuja, and in each place his parents ran small trade ventures to keep the household going. That everyday closeness to buying, selling and making the numbers work is something he still points back to today.

The pull toward numbers
By secondary school in Abuja, Timothy had found the subjects that would shape him. He threw himself into mathematics, physics and mechanics, the kind of problems that reward patience and a steady head. He credits his father for the quantitative instinct that came so easily to him, and his older brother Isaac for keeping him sharp, an early rival who made sure he never coasted.

Learning the markets
At fifteen, long before most people give money markets a second thought, Timothy started teaching himself to trade. He studied technical analysis and price action late into the night, learning how orders moved across forex and crypto derivatives. He funded those first positions himself, from personal savings and a share of the family trade, and treated every loss as tuition. What began as curiosity slowly hardened into a discipline.

Into engineering
In 2022 Timothy earned admission to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, to study Mechatronics Engineering. The move gave the systems thinking he had built at the charts a formal home. Between lectures and lab work he kept trading and kept building, convinced that engineering and markets were really two ways of asking the same question: how does a complex system behave, and where does it break.

Building something of his own
In 2026 Timothy co-founded Zee Wallet alongside Eric Chimaobi Ebeh and Donatus Chigozie Agbo. The idea was simple and stubborn: make decentralized finance and everyday liquidity genuinely easy for people across Africa, not just for those already fluent in crypto. The three of them have been building it since, splitting the work across trading, engineering and product.
